This design won an international competition in 1992 for the Helsinki Museum of Contemporary Art. The main curved wall/roof is built of C shaped trusses set out along the radii of the generating torus geometry. The C is propped lightly by the pipe columns on the warped glass face of the shape -- in effect simply supported.

The space of the truss creates a thick cavity through which all the services are distributed, both horizontally and vertically thanks to its curve. Its thickness appears in the windows and skylight cuts.
